Hide watermark of JQEdit after insert of 1 char

by jorgo » 15 Jul 2016 09:01

Hi,

I want the behavior of the shown 'JQEdit features' example.
The 'JQEdit with watermark' example has no source code!

1.) The watermark text vainshes if at least 1 char is writen.
If I use a new JQEdit component and activate watermark the
watermark text vanishes immediately with getting the focus.
What must I do to get the same effect as in the example?

2.) Error in JQEdit component:
If I set 'PasswordPrompt := True' then the height of JQEdit during runtime is reduced.
During designtime the height is ok.
It looks very bad if 'user edit' and 'password edit' has not the same height.
In most cases its the first impression of a program!

Browser: IE11
Delphi: 10.1 Berlin
IW : 14.0.56
cgdev: 2.9.0.284

Kind regards
jorgo

Hi Alexander,

this demo has no source code.
In the dfm-file there are 2 specific properties set:

WatermarkOptions.Enable = True
WatermarkOptions.Text = 'User'

- In Firefox all is correct.
- In IE11 the font.color remains black and with getting the focus the watermarktext hides before the first input of a char.

Q1.) Is there a solution in sight?

Test:
If I set "WatermarkOptions.UseNative = False" IE11 font color is now ok.
If I set "PasswordPrompt = True" the height of the edit field is reduced.
It looks bad, if user and password field have two different heights!

Q2.) Is this a bug or a feature?

Kind regards
jorgo

Hi jorgo,

WatermarkOptions.UseNative

By default:True
It's mean, the watermark (aka placeholder), have the default behavior and style of browser....

Best Regards.
