Enabled/Editable/ReadOnly best way

Hi

I noticed that a lot of component have all these 3 properties, which basically should do the same, make the component not editable.
Also the Datalink has a StateChangeOperation scoReadOnly.

So i wonder, to make a 'Read Only ' form with controls not editable what's the best way to make these controls not editable.
Any difference to do this between databound and not databound controls?

(I can's seemto find documentation on DataLink.StateChangeOperation)

Hi,

  • Enabled - when false, will have dark overlay/appearence. Not focusable.
  • Readonly - when true, will not allow to edit. Focusable.

When you use the DataLink, you should use the DataLink.StateChangeOperation property:

  • scoEnable - same effect as Enable property
  • scoReadOnly - same effect as ReadOnly property

Best Regards.

Alexander will you please also expand this explanation to include the Editable property and why it is addition to Readonly.

Also, why the Editable property is not available on all logically editable data linked components.

TIA
