Tab Order

General discussion

by Aggie85 » 20 Jun 2014 17:21

Thanks for the quick response. Let me try setting all my components (I am only using CGDevTools) to True / -1 where tab stops aren't.

A following up question: How does the tab stop order work with container controls (i.e if I have a group box with 20 edit controls in it and another group box with another 20 controls, the tab index is relevant for within each group box, right)?

The easiest way to demo it would be a remote session because if possible.

Thanks,

Do you have any problem? are you saying that there is a bug with TabOrder? what kind of bug?

First thanks for quick reply!

The tab order is all over the place. Let me first go through and enable TabIndex to true and set TabOrder =-1 for all labels and see if this helps.

BTW, should the group boxes have a tab order or TabEnabled = -1?

I will report back after I get all the labels set to see if it works on one of my simpler forms where is it also screwed up.

Thanks,

OK. I have gone through and set all control property TabIndex to True. I set all my label's tab order to -1. I then went through manually and set the tab order from the top control to the bottom control in a group box from 0 to N.

When the page shows, the tab order is NOT logical.

What the heck could I be doing wrong? IT can't be that complicated.

Thanks,

Hi

Does this behaviour happens only with group boxes?

I only have my controls in group boxes. I just put together a simple demo where I cut and pasted one of my groupbox of controls to a single form.

I then tried all the obvious ways of setting the tab order and it almost works but doesn't. If you set the tab order, close the form, and then reopen it, the tab order is changed in the IDE.

The link to the test app compiled and with source and the latest WWWROOT stuff is at at:

http://www.stumpware.com/IWTest.zip

The zip file is 14.4mb!

If you could please tell me what the heck I am doing wrong, it would be very much appreciated. I am going to put my upgrade off as the tab order on a couple of the pages is really all over the place.

Best Regards,

Hi

You do have 2.1.0.3695 installed don't you?

Because we made a mistake in .3691 and then rectify in .3695
