12.2.4-Upload File

General discussion

by ScottWGast » 24 May 2012 20:56

Pedro,

Does the upload file component work now? I'm testing it out (using your demo) and it doesn't seem to be working. I'd really love to dump TIWFile!

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott

Of course it works

You can check it yourself, running the demo source code, or the online demo in this site.

What seems to be the problem?

Win7Pro/IE9
Running Jquerydemo12.
Select File Upload.
Click Upload button.
Browse to .bmp file (1.2mb).
Click OK.
Under the Upload button, text appears with the filename.bmp with _Cancel_Failed
IE9 displays message @ bottom of IE window: Do you want to open or save IDD9B29C9487744C2BDDDD60AC7836E3FActionUpload(100 bytes) from 127.0.0.1? (Open/Save/Cancel)

Also, I tried to drag and drop a file and IE9 shows a "Move" icon when I drag it over the IE window, after I drop it, nothing happens.
Thanks!

Chrome:
Click Upload button.
Select temp.bmp (1.2mb)
Upload Status dialog: 1 file downloaded: test.bmp
Text msg below Upload button: test.bmp 1.2mb Failed
Click View Files button: test.bmp is displayed correctly.
Switch over to Windows Explorer in Upload folder.

Scottt

I'm reviewing all upload again

I'll let you know what my conclusions are.

One thing is for sure: IE doesnt support drag and drop by nature, but thats IE's fault.

Scott

about:

"Text msg below Upload button: test.bmp 1.2mb Failed"

this is was my fault in recent commits and was fixed for next build

"IE9 displays message @ bottom of IE window: Do you want to open or save IDD9B29C9487744C2BDDDD60AC7836E3FActionUpload(100 bytes) from 127.0.0.1? (Open/Save/Cancel)"

this is was related to:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2483771/how-can-i-convince-ie-to-simply-display-application-json-rather-than-offer-to-do
( dumb IE)

And it's fixed for next release

Now about that bmps arent correctly uploaded, I cant simulate
Could you please send me your test bmp please? TIA

Regards
