Width of the check box; text and icon

I really want to be able to align the label to the left side and set the with so the right side would align to the other input fields, I think that is the standard way when you design an input form.
But check box ignores the width property, it is so to speake always auto sized.

Here is an example of a check box with a certain width applied.

So can I do this by CSS or other means (JavaScript maybe). Or maybe this could get on the wish list.
