Loading page with a IWCGJQMGrid

When I try to load a page with a TIWCGJQMGrid on it I just get a loading animation and the page never seems to load with the grid.

While creating test project I see that this happens when the region that the grid is in is set to regiontype = jqmrtPage. If the regiontype is set to jqmrtContent or jqmrtRegion the page loads fine.

Now the the issue I am having is that no records are displaying on the gird. I have a IWCGJQMGridDataSetProvider assigned to the grid and have confirmed that the dataset the IWCGJQMGridDataSetProvider is attached to has records but nothing is being displayed when the page loads.
