Validated property unavailable ?

by Peter_B » 10 Jun 2013 20:08

Hi again

I've spent some more time investigating IWCGJQFancyCaptcha ... I really don't think it is working as it should (or at least as it used to do with IW12.2.12.1 and CG1.5.3)

If an incorrect captcha selection is made, then it cannot be corrected by subsequently making the correct selection (always validating False) unless the page is refreshed (then the option will most likely change anyway)

Only if the correct captcha is selected the first time will it validate true ... is that how it really should work ? ... I'm sure that more than one 'shot' used to be allowed in earlier versions ?

This is demonstrated in in the IW14 jQuery demo for this component, both with async and full submit.

As ever any advice always welcome :)

Hi Pete

You're very right

If the event is ajax/async, it's not working properly, if the first Validate is false.

The possibility of being able to validate in an ajax/async feature, was introduced in latest 1.5.4 version, but as you proved, isn't working as it should.

Will try to fix this as soon as possible.

That's fantastico, thank you 8-)
If the event is ajax/async, it's not working properly, if the first Validate is false.

... please also bear in mind that it is not just for an async event, it also happens for full submit. In fact, if you try a full submit event and focus, for example, an edit control on your page before attempting to validate FancyCaptcha, then even the first attempt, even if it is correct, will fail validation :!:

Hi Pete

Yes, that issue was fixed a week ago in version .2431

Using full submit events (Ajax=False)

1 - Hit the button with a correct match.

2- Validated returns True

3- if you don't change the current form, and we hit the button again, it keeps saying that Validated = True, because it's not set to false OnRender, only OnCreate

All of these versions are avaialble in

http://www.cgdevtools.com/files/iwcgjquery/beta%20versions/

1.5.4.xxx are revisions from the publish version with bug fixes only.

Hi again

Please accept my apology, I think there has been an element of confusion within this thread. We mainly got onto async/ajax for this component and I completely ended up by missing the fact that you had already resolved the full submit issue by now
I have just updated to .2485 and all is indeed well. This is the first time I have used anything other than the released downloads (eg. that would currently be .2397), so thank you for the link to the betas and thank you for your patience and amazingly fast help 8-)

as ever, cheers Pete B.
