Best way to supress double click.

My users aren'r always as patient as i would wish, so when a form that's opended by a button click takes time to load they somestimes click the button again, and again. And again. This screws things up for me so i would like to be able to supress this behaviour (on the button side that is).
What would be the best way to accomplish this?

PS. In effect the double click raises a "Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset by peer" exception. DS.
